Tranquil ponds, majestic trees and elevated ground…
New Canaan has been a wonderful town in which to live and raise a family since its incorporation as Canaan Parish in 1731. There is every reason to believe it will continue to be one of the nation’s most desirable communities into the foreseeable future. Lakeview Cemetery with its 41 acres of beautifully maintained park-like grounds, historical significance and interest, serene atmosphere and dedicated staff is an important local asset.
It offers a variety of burial options and sites overlooking tranquil ponds, under majestic trees, surrounded by 19th century stones and in elevated open grounds. The Cemetery accommodates in-ground burials, mausoleum crypts, a columbarium, and plots for individuals, couples and families.
Unlike many cemeteries, Lakeview allows flexibility in selection of burial mode and site.
“The most beautiful cemetery in New England.”
– Norman Bailey, Artist
Unmatched integrity, security, flexibility, appearance…
Lakeview Cemetery is unique in the area. All lot sales are recorded in the Town Clerk’s office in order to prevent the possibility of double sales. Unlike many cemeteries, Lakeview allows flexibility in selection of burial mode and site. Perpetual care is included in the price of each lot and does not require any additional or recurring payments.
The Cemetery is managed by a board comprised of long time local residents and a staff of dedicated professionals. The high level of integrity, security, flexibility, appearance, and management are unmatched in area facilities.
